How did Spartans get the goods they needed for everyday life?
As you may know, the Spartans were the "crazy warmongers" (LOL) of ancient Greece, so when they captured other lands, they forced the locals to farm for them, and also, they had their own local Spartan farmers. Out of the raw material they got from other lands and their own, craftsmen made manufactured goods. Unlike Athens, Sparta did not rely on trade to get what they needed. ☺
