I can draw looking at a picture great. I can picture something in my mind and it looks totally awesome but when I try to draw it on paper it doesn't look like what I've seen in my head, how do I draw what I see in my head?

When you look at a picture and draw it, your mind is more or less do a reflection of what you are seeing with you eyes. This is why it may seem to be easier to do this method of drawing. Your asking why can't you interpret what you are imaging in your mind. The important thing to understand when drawing is that what you see is not what you perceive, and you have to draw what you see. If you do not fully see what you are imaging in your mind you will not be able to draw it correctly.
