Is Cadence how do you identify maj or min key?

    Is Cadence how do you identify maj or min key? And how can you tell if its perfect plagal or imperfect!?

    No, a cadence is the chord progression at the end or mid-point of a piece of music. A perfect cadence is chords V-I (5 to 1) and sounds as if the piece has finished. A plagal cadence is chords IV-I (4 to 1) and sounds like the word "amen" and is generally used at the end of hymns. An imperfect cadence is chords anything-V (any chord (often I or 1) to 5) and will sound unfinished as if the piece is about to carry on. Hope this helps
