    Is the ordered pair (4, 12) a solution to the equation y=3 x? If yes, is it the only solution? A. No, the ordered pair does not fit the equation.b. yes, but it is not the only solution to the equation.c. yes, and it is the only ordered pair that fits the equation.

    Yes. 12=3 (4). But it's not the only solution. The graph of the equation is a line, on which each of the infinite number of points is a solution to the equation. A few others are 1,3) , (2,6) , (3,9) , (19,57) , (613, 1839), etc.
