Three primary responsibilities of the national U. S. Gov't?
There are actually more than 3; more like 6. The six primary goals of the Federal Government in broad outline as described in the Preamble are: 1. In Order to form a more perfect Union, 2. Establish Justice, 3. Insure domestic Tranquility, 4. Provide for the common Defense 5. Promote the general Welfare 6. Secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity The only one that might be somewhat confusing to the average American is "form a more perfect union." This isn't a requirement for perfection; it means providing a better, more workable union than that which the Articles of Confederation provided.
