What are the five food groups recommended by the USDA’s MyPlate Food Guidance System?
So the five food groups are as follows: Fruit group — apples, oranges, strawberries, cherries, etc. Protein group — poultry, fish, beef, and any other meat from animals you can think of. Vegetable group — leek, kale, spinach, bell pepper, etc. Grain group — different grains such as barley, wheat, rye, etc. Dairy — milk and cheese for example.
