What was the Battle of Britain and why was it so important during WWII?
The Battle of Britain was when Germany launched aerial attacks on British soil, trying to damage some of the major cities and infrastructure grounds, as well as aircraft factories. The failure of Germany to achieve its objectives of destroying Britain's air forces or forcing Britain to sign an armistice or for Britain to surrender was considered Germans first defeat and a very crucial turning point for World War Two. This was also the first major campaign fought entirely by air force.
